Mercury Car Centre has been looking after cars and their owners in Brentwood since 1990. Family run from the beginning, we’ve built our reputation over 35 years on honest advice, quality workmanship, and the kind of relationship most main dealers can’t offer.

Our team of 13 includes technicians who have worked at dealerships including Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Jaguar Land Rover, so we have the same depth of knowledge you’d find at a franchised dealer, without the franchised dealer price tag. Several of our staff have been with us for over 30 years so you’ll see the same faces every time you visit, and they’ll know yours.

What We’re Known For

We specialise in German marques and Jaguar Land Rover, though we work across a wide range of manufacturers. Gearbox work, diagnostics, and servicing are particular strengths, and we invest in the tools to back that up. We use the same diagnostic system used by the main dealers alongside the full Bosch diagnostic suite. So when something needs finding, we can find it.

Being a Bosch Car Service centre connects us to one of the world’s largest automotive networks, giving us access to technical expertise, parts, and support that most independent garages simply don’t have. We’re also members of the RMI and IMI, and we’re registered with Trading Standards, giving you confidence that we operate to recognised professional standards.

Our Promise to You

Every job we carry out comes with a warranty on parts and labour for 24 months or 24,000 miles, whichever comes sooner. That’s double the industry norm, and it reflects how seriously we take our work. We use manufacturer or original equipment parts as standard, so there’s no compromise on quality once the car leaves us.

We’re not the cheapest garage around, and we don’t try to be. We’re proud of what we do, and we believe the bitterness of poor quality outlasts the satisfaction of a lower price. Our customers tend to agree, as many have been coming back for years.

Finding Us and Getting to Us

We’re based in Brentwood and look after drivers from across the surrounding area, including Chelmsford, Billericay, Shenfield, and Ingatestone. Shenfield station is just a short distance away and has direct services into London, so dropping your car off and heading into the city for the day is straightforward. For those coming by road, we’re around seven miles from Junction 28 of the M25.

Parking is available on site. We have a comfortable reception area with tea, coffee, free Wi-Fi, and customer toilets. If getting to us is difficult, we offer collection and delivery within 15 miles, and we have loan cars available subject to availability.
